What To Wear

Tracksuit bottoms (thick), trainers (Hi-Tec Squash / Indoor shoes are ideal) and tee-shirt. We provide the rest of the equipment for beginners. Once you decide you like the sport, then you can begin buying your own equipment.

Directions For Venue

Dunraven Lower School at the corner of Mount Nod and Leigham Court Road in Streatham (Click here for a map).

We meet in the gym at the back of the school - use the entrance to the school furthest up Mount Nod and go round the back of the school - the gym is the building on the left, with the entrance under the covered way and parking in front of it. If coming by public transport there are trains to Streatham Hill and buses along Streatham High Road. The 417 bus stops near the school

Classes last for 8 weeks and cost £70 for those aged 17+ and £50 for those aged up to 16.

Junior Class - 6.30pm to 7:30pm (up to age 10 - 16)

For those starting for the first time and cover movement, attacks, parries and ripostes - the fee includes loan of equipment. It is normally possible to still join a course if you have missed the first night. The cost of the course is deductible from the club fees for the rest of the season if you join the club at the end of the course and join the regular improvers group, fees for members are £80 for the whole year.

Beginners Class - 7.30pm to 9:30pm (aged 17+)

For those starting for the first time and cover movement, attacks, parries and ripostes - the fee includes loan of equipment. It is normally possible to still join a course if you have missed the first night. The cost of the course is deductible from the club fees for the rest of the season if you join the club at the end of the course and join the regular improvers group, fees for members are £150 for the whole year.

Improvers Class - 7.30pm to 9:30pm (aged 17+)

For those who have previous experience of fencing - the fee includes loan of equipment. It is normally possible to still join a course if you have miss the first night. The cost of the course is deductible from the club fees for the rest of the season if you join the club at the end of the course and join the regular improvers group, fees for members are £150 for the whole year.

Those who are members can take individual, one on one, fencing lessons from our coach. Please approach the coach on the night to book your spot. Most fencers take a 15 minute lesson from the coach in between boats with other club members.
