What To Wear

Tracksuit bottoms (thick), trainers (Hi-Tec Squash / Indoor shoes are ideal) and tee-shirt. We provide the rest of the equipment for beginners. Once you decide you like the sport, then you can begin buying your own equipment.

Tony Coton

Tony Coton has coached professionally for over 30 years at all levels (junior, beginner, intermediate & advanced) with all three weapons (foil, epee & sabre).

Tony coaches at many other clubs including Salle Paul Fencing Club in Highgate, London. He is also credited with founding Ashburton Fencing Club and Salle Joseph. Tony also teaches fencing at many local schools including Putney High School in Wandsworth and Ursuline School in Wimbledon.

Chris Coton

Chris coaches the junior classes. At 24 years old, he has already competed both at national and international A-grade level and brings a youthful and energetic enthusiasm to his lessons. Chris has recently achieved the Instructors Level 1 and Level 2 Qualifications from British Academy of Fencing.

Alan Grafton

Alan has been fencing for 16 years and coaching for 10 years. He has Qualified at Level 3, England Fencing for foil and Level 2 for Epee.

Alan coaches complete beginners and intermediates. Taking them through the basics of footwork, holding the foil, parrying and lunging.
